Art

Creative expression through painting, sculpture, mixed media and sensory art. Learners build confidence, communication and fine motor skills while exploring emotion through colour and texture.

Music

Rhythm, composition and listening activities develop auditory processing, emotional regulation and social connection. Music supports memory, sequencing and self-expression.

Science

Hands-on experiments and observation tasks spark curiosity and critical thinking. Science sessions develop prediction, questioning and practical investigation skills in a low-pressure environment.

Physical education

Movement, coordination and team games support gross motor development, self-regulation and social communication. Sessions are adapted to every learner's needs and pace.

Outdoor learning

Nature-based activities build resilience, risk awareness and physical confidence. Learners develop teamwork, problem-solving and sensory regulation through structured outdoor experiences.

Cooking

Food preparation builds life skills, sequencing, maths and teamwork. Learners gain independence, follow instructions and explore sensory experiences through taste, smell and texture.

Maths and literacy woven throughout

Maths and literacy are not bolted on; they run through every activity. Cooking involves weighing and measuring, science involves predicting and recording, music involves pattern and rhythm, and outdoor learning involves mapping, sequencing and problem-solving.

Adaptive teaching embedded

Every session is planned responsively. Staff use ongoing assessment of regulation, engagement and readiness to adjust how content is taught, when it is taught and in what size chunk. Adaptive teaching is embedded, not an add-on.
